Recently, the harm chemical materials, such as Formaldehyde, Acetaldehyde, VOC et al, in home were injured for health. The materials was not caught the general technology in the order to weak concentration in home.On the other hand, a titanium dioxide(TiO2) photocatalyst is utilized for various fields of environment purification such as decomposition of the harm chemical materials.TiO2 was is stable for the acid and alkali, a low price material, and more safety for health. However, TiO2 photocatalyst can only decompose organic materials and bacterium which exist on the surface of TiO2, but are unable to absorb the materials at a distance. Another hand, it is reported that Hydroxyapatite(HAP) is useful for absorption of bacterium, virus, a materials contained Neutrogena oxide, and Ammonia. But HAP can not decompose organic materials which were absorbed. In other to supplement of a weak point both TiO2 and HAP, We are developed TiO2 coated to HAP which has the ability both absorb and decompose repeatly.
We had been starting to sell a paint had function of photocatalyst which had contained the martial of TiO2 coated on HAP, called nanomic,
Photocatalyst paint had characterized as follow:
- The photocatalyst paint can be reached to purification of environment in home by both absorb and decompose repeatly.
- The photocatalytst paint can be reached to purification of the bad smell materials such as Ammonia et al similarly.
- The photocatalyst paint can be most reached clear in order to high dispersion of the material of TiO2 coated on HAP.
- The kinds of the photocatalyst paint were varaitued to according for purpose, for example
- This paint were achievement to low cost.
- The organic component into the paint and the face of the base material on the coated paint was not damaged by photocatalystic paint. The reason was considered that photocatalyst TiO2 was not contacted at the neighbor material for coated by HAP.
Regarding to the the martial of TiO2 coated on HAP, nanomic and the paint, nanomic explained.Nanomic The powder of TiO2 coated on HAP, called Nanomic, was been successful to the mass product. It was observed that particle shape of Nanomic was not sharp comparing to TiO2 particle. The cloud appearance on particle, TiO2, was determined HAP by using X-ray, the several analyzers. Therefore, Nanomic was determined TiO2 coated on HAP particle. And more The mass of coat on HAP of Nanomic was controlled the quality.
Photocatalyst paint
Photocatalyst material should be given as larger area for has the surface reaction. Because the harm chemical materials come out through the wall of the room, it should be the most effective method to provide with TiO2 coated by HAP as the paint product.Aqueous solution and organic solvent are used as the solvent of paint. Since any solvent dispersion contains the hazardous chemical materials, for instance, Toluene, Xylene, aqueous solution should be available to purify the interior surroundings and the original appearance of interior design should not be soiled by colouring, transparent coating will be requested.The followings are the points to meet the above mentioned conditions
Transparent coating
High dispersion of pigment (particles) (TiO2 coated by HAP) in solution will be requested to obtain transparent coating. Particles will be highly dispersed in the following conditions.
- Much surfactant absorb to particles.
- Less bulk density of particles ???? in solution
- pH 9.0-10.0 of solution is prepared
Adhesion strength and endurance
Coating properties almost depends on the characteristics of adhesion. Acrylic emulsion which has superior anti-acid performance, and water resistance is appropriate for paint of interior and urethane dispersion is added to increase adhesion strength. In the result of JIS (Japan industrial standard) evaluation, this paint has the following excellent performance, and it is available for interior application.
- Pencil hardness H
- Cross cut 10(10/10)
